It's a little pricey. It doesn't work for everyone given the comments in the support section. Cat 5 cabling would be a much better route if you have the time and ability. But Powerline sure hits the spot for me. I've tried every wireless router under the sun and they all get the big fail. They generally work. But they are usually a lot slower than advertised and crap out on me all the time. I'm sure it doesn't help that most cordless phones operate on the same frequency.
So I finally splurged on a Netgear HDX101. Two actually. Here's the installation procedure.
Plug everything in.
That's it. Plug them both into a wall socket - one by the router, one by your computer. Plug the Cat 5 cables in and that's it. Transmission is encrypted. No software to install. Not setup. 80 Mbps. That's pretty sweet.
