whoopie cushion

I can't stop thinking about this technology. It's an artificial intelligence version of 20 questions. It doesn't always wins but it is amazingly good at the game. I'd love to know what is behind this program. I can guess but I'd love to see the actual implementation. It got elephant in 14 questions, computer speakers in 18, and whoopie cushion in 15. That in itself is amazing but what absolutely blows me away is that you can actually answer some of the questions incorrectly (from the computer's point of view) and it will still guess the right answer.
