golf carts

I just got back from a vacation trip to an island. The transportation for the island was largely relegated to golf carts with a few more traditional vehicles for work purposes. How infinitely more civilized the world would be if we drove golf carts everywhere instead of big bulky gas-munching cars. Think of the benefits:
  1. Driving a golf cart is just plain fun. Can you think of a situation where you were ever grumpy driving one? This is probably why they are used during golf which is a grumpy inducing activity.
  2. Saves gas
  3. Cheaper than cars
  4. No road rage. Is road rage possible going 15 mph?
  5. No keeping up with the Jones'. All golf carts are pretty much the same. Sure I've seen the fake Rolls Royce fronts on some golf carts but that's just pathetic.

The only real downside I can see is that James Bond films will suffer. Somehow the Yamaha Gmax doing reverse 180s going down the wrong way on a one-way street won't be the same as when it's done with an Aston Martin. I can live with that though.
